Unfortunately the delivery company (allegedly) attempted delivery, but (allegedly) failed and did not advise me or AP. When I highlighted this issue, AP responded quickly to check and confirm the delivery status, and upon my flagging the issues I'd had and the time sensitivity given it was a birthday present, AP re-dispatched the order as special delivery, changing the delivery address when I highlighted I could not be in to sign for it, and got it to me within about 48 hours of my first email. Delivery company issues are part of life, but the helpful and responsive team at Absolute Pearls ensured I had the earrings on time. "The delivery was quick and arrived by lunchtime on Saturday. Christine was careful not to open the pack but I could see that she was already very keen to try them on because they looked such a good quality replacement. Even so, we took time to compare and could see there were just a couple of differences. Most obvious was the gold stud is longer. The advantage I could see is that the original stud has only room for just one notch to hold the fixing in place. Your stud has three and to me that’s got to be an advantage because if Christine secures the fixing on the innermost notch then there’s a couple more that would stop a fixing from falling off should it move off the first notch. The pearl size is marginally different with yours slightly larger but Christine now sees that perhaps her original was a little small for her ear. The colour is a little more bright but it’s not far off the warmer colour of her original. I’ve just thought of a good description…. It’s like the variations in LED lamps being sold with “warm” light or “cool” light.. the difference between the colour temperature between daylight and incandescent lighting. Anyway, we felt totally sure they were going to be worn and kept and so we opened the pack. Christine was thrilled with how they looked on her. She is really impressed because she had come to think that she would never be able to find a quality replacement. She knew she would never get a “like for like” set but, as it’s turned out, she feels the replacement set is actually even better than her original. We are delighted that we stopped the purchase of that nasty replacement set in the rogue jeweller’s shop in Epernay because it allowed me to find you online in the UK. Your service really is first class and we both thank you for the time and effort you’ve spent in making Christine a very happy lady! The replacement earrings are wonderful. We’d gone to Epernay to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary and the loss of her original was discovered on our actual anniversary day. These new earrings are now an anniversary gift from me and that makes me very happy too."
